Nice Face was launched in early 2005 by designer Whitney Gifford with the goal of bringing unique, eye-catching and affordable clothing to women of all shapes and sizes. Whitney grew up in Bucksport, Maine. After graduating from high school in 2003, she worked in a bookstore for a few months before moving to Portland, Maine in 2004. Knowing that she'd have to find something worthwhile to do with her life since she knew she didn't want to go to college, she decided to have a go at making sewing and fashion design into her full-time occupation. Her hard work began to pay off in mid-2005 when she was able to cut down her schedule at her retail job to only weekends, and from there continued to progress, going down to only one day a week and eventually quitting altogether in the late summer of 2007. Whitney then moved to Boston, Massachusetts in 2008, where she lives currently with two boys and three cats. She spends her days sewing and watching TV judge shows in her small home studio and could not possibly be happier.
